Porsche is ready to redefine fast with the all-new 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S. Both models sit at the top-of-the-range in the 911 lineup and both coupe and convertible models are equipped with engines offering 20 horsepower more than before, a sharper design, and enhanced features.
Let’s get right down to the power. Power for the 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo comes from a 3.8 liter twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine developing 540 horsepower. The increase comes from modified intake ports in the cylinder heads, new fuel injectors, and higher fuel pressure. The new 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo S is powered by the same engine but produces an outstanding 580 horsepower with a maximum torque of 553 lb-ft in overboost. The Porsche 911 Turbo S also has a higher redline at 7,200 rpm than the turbo, which redlines at 7,000 rpm.
The Sport Chrono Package is now a standard on all 911 Turbo models. The packages adds a sports steering wheel in 918 Spyder design measuring 360 mm or 14.1 inches in diameter and is equipped with a mode switch. The rotary ring allows the driver to switch between four driving modes including Normal, Sport, Sport Plus, or Individual. The new Sport Chrono Package also includes a dedicated Sport Response button which when pressed kicks the Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S to its best level of responsiveness.
